I have long been a fan of some of the old Dansk candles and holders that were popular in the sixties. Although they were discontinued many years ago, we still had a set of the onion-shaped holders, but had difficulty finding candles for them. Motivated by finding a few at an antique auction, I did a search on the internet, and found that a company in Kansas City still made the candles. With the fresh source of candles as inspiration, I designed a new contemporary candleholder. The ring is machined from ½" stainless steel plate, and polished to a mirror finish. It holds eight thin tapers and its simple elegance never fails to garner attention at dinner parties.
